In most any church, communion supplies are among the most common supplies you will buy for your congregation. Fortunately, there are more options available than ever before. There are various types of communion cups, wafers, trays, fillers, and other supplies you can purchase. A church can purchase supplies for a congregation of 10,000 people all the way down to a house church of just a few people. Here are some options of different products you can buy.
Communion cups
Most churches purchase these communion cups in large quantities of 1,000 cups or even larger quantities. The most popular communion cups are the plastic disposable communion cups used at most churches. Swanson produces cups that are made of sturdy plastic and won’t easily break. You can purchase these cups at a minimum of 1,000 cups.
There are many prefilled communion cup and wafer sets you can purchase too. With these sets, the cups come with the juice already packaged in the cups, and the wafer is sealed at the top of the cup. These are best used in larger church settings, as you do not have to spend time filling hundreds of plastic cups with juice before the church service.
Communion wafers
There are many options available for wafers. Some churches will buy large packs of unleavened bread. You can buy these in packs of 500 at an affordable price. Other congregations will buy hard bread, and these also come in packs of 500 in square pieces. Broadman & Holman Publishers sell this hard baked bread ready to serve, and it even comes in a zip lock bag so you can save the rest of the bread for another communion service. Some communion wafers come in round disks, and some come in squares. As I previously mentioned, some larger churches will simply buy prefilled communion cups that are also packaged with wafers at the top of the container.
Communion cup trays and holders
Once you buy the wafers, juice, and bread for communion, you will need to purchase trays to serve the communion. You can buy trays that are made of polished aluminum, silver tone, or brass tone. It is possible for you to only buy the trays for the communion cups, but you can also buy a set of trays for holding the bread too.
Portable communion sets
Many families and married couples take communion together. Pastors and missionaries also conduct communion on the go to people who are sick, people in nursing homes, people in prisons, and various other places. A portable communion set is the perfect on-the-go solution for pastors.
