The Go Fish guys are some of the most popular bands in children’s media today. While many Christians have heard their music, they probably don’t know much about the history of the Go Fish Guys. Many years ago when they were first noticed, they wanted to be the next big thing in Christian music. They hoped to follow in the footsteps of Third Day and DC Talk, but they quickly gained a following with children and young mothers looking for family friendly music. It wasn’t long before MOPS and everyone else wanted them to play at their conventions. Most bands don’t produce music for Vacation Bible School, but there is a huge demand for this music in the summer!
Today, the band is a staple in the Christian children’s music industry. They released their debut album in 2003 with the release of Splash. This music set them up for great success in a genre that craves family-friendly entertainment. They have appeared on The Today Show, and they present “old” music in new formats which appeals to children and young parents too! Many of our kids today have never even heard hymnals in church, but they will hear it when Go Fish sings it. Go Fish has a unique sound that can’t be easily copied, and they continue to release new music today.
The Go Fish guys have produced several great CDS and albums including Superstar, Snazzy, Snow, and Party Like a Preschooler. In recent years, they have been releasing music specifically to use in summer VBS programs at area churches around the world.
They have performed many classics on their albums, and they have released some of their own music too. Here are some of the songs you probably know that you can find within their albums:
If You’re Happy and You Know It
I don’t know any kids that don’t know this song! Go Fish guys has redone this classic song with Christian lyrics that are awesome for Vacation Bible School! Children and even some adults will be singing along with the lyrics of the song! It is on the new VBS album for 2012 titled Praise.
The Crazy Dance
This is the song you’ll see your kids dancing to for months and possibly years to come! You might even catch the parents dancing to The Crazy Dance! This is also from the 2012 album.
Movin to the Beat
Movin to the Beat is similar to the mainstream song Cha Cha Slide. It has all the fun movements of the Cha-Cha slide, and it has been redone with Christian lyrics to help teach kids lessons about the Bible. This is one of the new songs on the 2012 album.
The A B Cs
Yes! The Go Fish guys have a song to help your young children learn their ABCs! This is the perfect song for parents of younger children. You can find the song on the Party Like a Preschooler album.
The Go Fish guys have been producing some of the most professional music for the children’s Christian music for several years now. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel! Get your kids the music from Go Fish guys today!

The number one resource for church media here!
Church media is becoming an increasingly important part of our church culture. The 21st century is dominated by television, movies, music, and the internet. All of these influences are having an effect on our lives and thoughts. It is very easy to let media run our lives, but we need to be careful to guard ourselves against the forces of evil. Whether you like all of the technology or not, media is here to stay, so it is up to Christians to utilize media to reach this world for Christ.
Media is a tool just like anything else. It can be used for evil or for good. As Christians, there are many ways we can use church media to help evangelize the lost. Have a movie night at the church where you show a Christian movie. At the time of this writing, Courageous is in many movie theaters across America. Many people will see it in the movie theaters, but not everyone is going to see it there. Schedule a night where members of the church can invite non-Christians to a movie night at the church. You could make it even less intimidating by having the movie night at a location other than the church. Many people who aren’t Christians will go to a movie night even if you are watching a Christian movie.
Some of the best church media today comes in the form of awesome Christian music. There are many Christian and praise bands that don’t get much exposure in the secular world. Christian concerts happen all over the country, so invite your non-Christian friends out to a concert with a rockin’ Christian band! Most Christian concerts include a time for a Gospel message to reach out to the unbelievers in the audience.
The worship at your church is very important as it relates to church media. Music has a way of stirring up the emotions of people unlike anything else. Every year, there are many new songs being written and sung in congregations all over the world. Many of the new songs will appeal to outsiders visiting the church. While it would be better for people to come to church because they are observing the Sabbath and fellowshipping with other believers, the reality is that many people come to church with other motives. The music can help bring people into the congregation, and once they are there, it is the responsibility of the members to help keep people there.
The rise of YouTube is a lesson for everyone that people love to watch videos. Videos can be utilized in sermons too. Many churches now have overhead projection systems that make it easy to show movie clips for sermons. As a result, there is a huge demand for short Christian videos that can be shown in church services. Don’t be afraid to break up your sermons with movie clips during the sermon.
Church media is having a huge impact on the 21st century church. Media does not have to be a negative influence in your life. Use church media to help reach this world for Christ!
